About the Shinco SPF2 Portable Air Conditioner with Heat
The SPF2 with heat is the 10,000 BTU SPF2 with a fourth mode. In summer it cools a room up to 400 square feet at 10,000 BTU by the ASHRAE test, 6,450 BTU by the DOE seasonal test. When the nights turn cold you switch the same unit to Heat. Its heat carries no separate BTU rating, so size it by the cooling numbers.
Dry mode removes moisture with no bucket to empty (up to 36 liters a day, evaporated through the exhaust hose), and the fan runs at three speeds. The gray body stands 32.68 inches tall on four casters.
A unit that heats as well as cools draws heavy current all year round. Plug it straight into a wall outlet, never into an extension cord or a power strip.

Can the SPF2 with heat replace a furnace?
No. It is a room unit: it takes the chill off one room up to the size you would cool with it. Size it by its cooling rating, 10,000 BTU for a room up to 400 square feet.
Does the SPF2 with heat need a bucket emptied?
Not in Dry mode: it evaporates up to 36 liters a day of the water it collects and sends it out through the exhaust hose.
