About the Shinco Window Seal for Casement Windows
A slider kit only fits a window that slides. For a crank (casement) window or a tilting window, this seal closes the gap: a sheet of double-sided waterproof fabric that fastens around the frame with hook-and-loop strips, with a zipper in the middle that opens around the exhaust hose.
It fits windows with a perimeter up to 157.5 inches (400 cm), opening left or right, bottom-hung windows and skylights. It does not fit sliding windows or doors: use the kit that came with your unit for those.
You can open and close the window with the seal in place, and take it down at the end of summer to put it back next year. It works for tumble dryers and dehumidifiers that vent through a window too.
The Window Seal for Casement Windows is part of the Shinco range.

A portable air conditioner works against the warm outdoor air it draws into the room, which is why its DOE seasonal rating sits below the figure on the box. A gap left around the hose lets in more of that air.
