How to choose a Shinco portable air conditioner

Start from the room. The SPF2 covers bedrooms and offices from 350 to 450 square feet in three sizes. The SPF1 is the 12,000 BTU unit for a living room, in a Standard, a Wi-Fi and an Auto-evaporation version. The SPU2 at 14,000 BTU takes a room up to 700 square feet. Two of them come with a heat mode for the months when you need the opposite.

Then compare the second number. The DOE seasonal rating is measured at 83°F and 95°F outdoors and counts the warm air the unit draws into the room, so it reads lower than the ASHRAE figure on the box: 4,550 against 8,000 on the smallest SPF2, 10,000 against 14,000 on the SPU2. Two units with the same ASHRAE number can differ here, and this is the number that predicts how a room feels.
